Twitter, it sounds like the perfect place to build a direct communication to your target audience or just become a twitter celebrity. Everyone thinks they will be the best tweeter ever but it's not as easy as it seems. Twitter is all about exposure... you need followers to get followers, so it's a catch 22. It's pointless.
Nobody really gives a shit about what you have to say, let's be honest. Everyone is there to get followers for themselves and couldn't give less of a rats ass about you, unless you are promoting them. It's just a huge group of people deluding themselves thinking that people actually give a shit. Accidentally, on the way of self-promotion people might actually stumble upon someone they would like to follow. But how are you going to see their tweets when you follow thousands of others? And all those people who follow you because you followback do you think they care about what you had for lunch? No.
The people with most followers are people who repost shitloads. So if you want to spend your life reposting other people's jokes etc then have fun with that.
Needless to say I just spent 2 hours of my life trying to obtain followers only to achieve a pitiful 100 and something. Now I feel like I wasted that time.
Ok that's the end of my 4am very badly written blog post/rant.
